In a particularly impressive moment, Argentina-born, Colorado artist Ana María Hernando is exhibiting her remarkable work in two expansive museum exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver and the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center.
Through her abundant, ethereal tulle, Hernando celebrates “soft power” and the potent beauty found within. From intimate to monumental scale, Hernando's tulle works unfold through a repeated gesture—gathered layer upon layer into buoyant, volumetric fields. This accumulation creates an immersive visual experience for the viewer and a meditative space for the artist.
Recognized as a multi-disciplinary artist working across performance, poetry, painting, embroidery, and a bold new series in felt, Hernando’s work can be experienced in two solo exhibitions opening the first week of March 2026. Opening Thursday, March 5th, will be the artist's largest solo museum exhibition in a decade: Seguir Cantando / Keep Singing, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. In tandem, a reception will take place Friday, March 6th for her solo exhibition, Cantando Bajito / Singing Softly at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center, Colorado College.
Compelling and inspiring, Hernando continues to engage in community in both process and spirit. Her works in all exhibitions stand as expressions of uncommon power and regeneration—a communal meditation on culture, gender, resilience, and collective strength.
