Known for his ephemeral, chromatic, classically grounded photography, Robischon Gallery artist Bill Amrstrongβs first in-depth monograph, π΄ππ π΄ π΅ππ’π: πβππ‘πππππβπ ππππ π‘βπ πΌππππππ‘π¦ ππππππ , is featured at New York's International Center of Photography's Annual Bookfest through October 5th. Armstrong's book, which includes over 300 luminous photographs ranging from atmospheric floating figures, to resonant color spheres, highlights the artist's uniquely layered process of blurring appropriated images. Armstrong employs a variety of media and techniques such as repurposing images while utilizing collage and painting - to produce a final photograph that visually vibrates with the luminous presence of an obscured central figure or form.

Armstrongβs work, π΄ πππ‘π‘ππ ππ πΏππβπ‘; πππ π‘πππ πΊππ π‘π’πππ , πΏππ π‘ π½π’πππππππ‘ πππ ππ’ππ‘π‘ππππππ‘π ππππ‘ππππ‘π , is currently featured in both the Vatican Museum as part of their permanent Modern and Contemporary collection, and at Casa Buonarroti, Michelangeloβs historic residence, in the exhibition titled, πππβππππππππβπ πππ π‘πππ πΆβππππ; π΄ ππ’ππ‘ππππππ πΌπππ.
Originally commissioned in 2018 by the Vatican, the πππ π‘πππ πΊππ π‘π’πππ series was developed as a collection inseparably linked to the museum. The resulting body of work reflects, for the Vatican, a uniquely profound spirituality through color and composition.
