Accomplished artist and Colorado State University alumnus Pard Morrison will install a bold, new multi column sculpture at the entrance to the Universityβs Center for the Arts during a public ceremony on April 18th. Titled, πβππ‘ πβππβ π»ππππ ππ πππππ‘βππ, the artistsβ spirited signature artwork will be his second permanent sculpture at CSU, following his earlier totemic work, π΄π π΄πππ’ππ’πππ‘πππ ππ π΅ππππ£ππππππ.
Providing an undeniably artful presence on the campus grounds of his alma mater, Morrisonβs exuberant artwork is intended to be an enlivening experience for students and faculty alike. At the installation event and in the video shown here, Morrison offers his support and professional experience to emerging artists at the University.
Through vivid moments of color and captivating pattern, Morrisonβs practice subtly intertwines richly pigmented, brushed surfaces with commanding architectural form, merging painting and sculpture into an identifiable hybrid. Fundamentally concerned with the βfelt mark,β Morrison sees the βfusion of surface and mediumβ as a metaphor for the human condition, and evidence of care and persistence.
