As communities across the U.S. mourn the loss of so many including George Floyd, Daunte Wright, Adam Toledo, and Colorado’s Elijah McClain, listen as Robischon Gallery artist Deborah Dancy discusses the weight of racism and the reality of police brutality as it relates to her own lived experience. Part of her larger solo exhibition at the gallery, Dancy’s timely and ongoing paired mixed media drawing series entitled “The Weight of a Million Black Stars” and “Oblivion” convey a deeply felt expression of the fragility of human life as compounded by profound racial oppression.
