The pronounced geometric structures, receding architectural or hand-drawn line qualities of the four solo artists on view in the gallery’s main space, provide a considerable bridge to the additional showing of abstraction in the Viewing Room. Featuring pioneering Washington, D.C. artist Jae Ko and noteworthy Colorado artists Derrick Velasquez and Kate Petley, the select group of individual works presented in the adjoining Viewing Room gallery utilize a range of unconventional materials such as rolled paper, draped upholstery vinyl and acrylic, archival ink and collaged film creations on canvas.
